Products Used in Traffic Control

Traffic officers employ different procedures in order to help the orderly flow of traffic. Aside from the routine duties of directing the traffic flow in all busy intersections, traffic officers use different traffic control products. Among them are:

• Road Tech Barriers. These traffic control products are considered better than metal fence barriers which become rusty when old. These are functional, very light and easy to store. Versatile and with a pleasing appearance, this product is made of recyclable and ecological polypropylene.
• RRM Safety Barriers. Another traffic control product is the RRM Safety Barrier which is superior in quality and strength compared to other traffic control products. These barriers are recyclable, maintenance free and won’t spark even when struck by metal objects.
• Gemstone Barriers. These traffic control products are made to last. Repeated impacts, inclement weather, and sun exposure will not weaken the most durable materials used in manufacturing these products. So far this is the most space efficient barricade available in the market today.
• Plasticade TM Barricade. This is approved and certified by the highway administration. This product has different colors such as while, yellow, or orange. It is designed to be ballasted up to a total of 10 pounds weight of internal ballasts.
• Flashing Light. Another traffic control product, is the flashing light which has a click-lock hinge and a sand bag bar for additional weight. In the open position, there is a positive interlock and to position steadily, additional bottom weight is added. This product is very visible and very safe.
• A-Frames. They are used to close a lane, road or aisle and many others. These traffic control products are made of heavy plastic which looks rugged but has real authority.
• SF50 Snow Control Fence. This product controls snow with outside are for wind loading.
• Impact Attenuator Sand Barrel. Another traffic control product, which is easy to move and arrange.

Traffic control products are manufactured in different parts of the world. These are widely in demand as our roads seem to become smaller and smaller because of the increasing number of vehicles that traverse them everyday. Without these products, traffic would not have an orderly flow. It trims down government expenses because of less road accidents.

Traffic control products could be kept in a special government storage area if the traffic enforcers think that traffic flow could be managed by their hand directions and whistles. Road barriers could be kept until such time when there is a need for them to be installed on the roads again. They are not wasted because most of them are made of durable materials such as very hard plastics.

Road barriers are not the only traffic control products that could be used to help conduct road traffic flow. The flashing light is used to light road constructions in order to avoid accidents.
