  1. Think! As an entrepreneur, your main job is to think. That is how you’ll collect more than a paycheck at the end of the month.   2. Exercise some effort. The importance of the process and effort of a thinking entrepreneur cannot be overstressed. The very concept that brought forth the idea to be a business owner in the first place is a thought that was turned into action. If you think, however, that your job is accomplished because of your first thought, then the world of the successful entrepreneur is not for you. If you are convinced that this world is for you, then proceed into action, or rather thought. After your original thought (your business idea) will come many more thoughts on how to continue to grow your business.

  3. Try a little harder. Thinking is a hard process. It involves a lot of time and energy and time and energy are among the entrepreneur's most precious commodities. If the business is to prosper, the business owner will have to invest quality time thinking about ways to improve the business. Time will have to be spent thinking about marketing strategies, improving the product/s on offer, improving human resources, capitalizing on profitable ventures, etc.

  4. Think money. Time is indeed money and time spent thinking about ways to improve business will bring in money in the short and long term.

  5. Use your imagination. How does one engage in monetary thinking? Thinking in monetary terms is a process. One has to set aside time get out his/her note pad and pen and actually work figures. It involves brainstorming new ideas, revisiting and revamping old ones and discarding the ones that are obsolete.

  6. Think fresh. The process of thinking also ought to be done when your mind is fresh. Utilize good music to inspire the thought process. You will be more creative when your mind is relaxed. The key to entrepreneurial success in today’s competitive world is to think, think, and think. Think your way to success.

  7. Do your homework! In entrepreneurial and business classes, you’ve always heard that a key way to avoid business losses due to poor investments is to research your market. This cannot be stated enough. You should have a solid understanding of the market you are entering. You should understand the buying attitude of your customers and gear your marketing to suit their lifestyle.

  8. Let your fingers do the talking. Another key feature of business research is that it generates new ideas that can be used for business growth or the starting of new profitable ventures. Researching also enables you to present a solid business plan to prospective lending agencies.

  9. Plan ahead! The engine behind successful growth is planning. Planning needs to be systematic and time-oriented. It should proceed in a logical step-by-step way with evaluations along the way. It needs to be time-oriented so that focused growth can be measured.

  10. Act! After careful planning, it is time to take decisive action. You cannot expect to achieve success unless you take the first step towards achieving that success.
