The turbine engine is one of the oldest and one of the most reliable engines designed so far. Unlike combustion engines that require the burning of fossil fuels in order to generate energy, turbine engines work with the force of the direction of fluid to generate energy. In the past, the turbine was used in simple devices like the water wheel or the wind mill. Today, the turbine engine is widely used in complex machines such as the turbine jet airplane or the turbine marine boat. - Determine the type of turbine engine. There are various types of turbine engines – the radial engine, efficiency engine. In general, however, turbines can be classified as pulse turbine engines or reaction turbine engines. Pulse turbine engines work by changing the direction of fluid motion. This means that the rotors found in the turbine are designed to deflect the fluid motion, which in turn makes the rotors move. - Attach the turbine engine to a battery bank. Once you have determined the type of turbine engine you need, you will need to attach the turbine engine to a battery bank in order to store the energy produced by the turbine. These battery banks can be purchased at your local hardware. If you want to use the energy immediately as it is produced by the turbine, you will need to find a voltage processor that will regulate the electricity produced by the turbine into a current that is compatible with the device or even appliances that you want to run using turbine engines. If you are using a wind powered turbine engine, you should also remember to adjust the wingspan and wing length to accommodate various wind conditions.
- Connect to your machine. The final step is to connect your machine to the electricity or power produced by the turbine. Jet engines using turbines have more complex ways of transforming the energy generated by the plane’s turbines into usable power. For home-use turbines, however, this can be as easy as plugging a television to a socket connected to the turbine or the battery bank that was powered by the turbine.
