They usually respond to an advertisement posted by the company. They are required to pass their resumes with cover letters, photocopied credentials and other legal documents that show their experience and qualification for the said vacancy. These are verified and then the most authentic ones are interviewed by the hiring officer. Most of the time they will be screened for their language proficiency – particularly their speaking and listening comprehension skills. Some may even require standards tests for English, Japanese or Mandarin etc., depending on the company’s native country. After passing these tests, they will be guided in securing a working visa through the embassy. Before the worker is sent to the country, they usually undergo orientation or training of some sort.

The human resources department plays an important role in providing the company the overseas manpower it needs.
