To become SORA certified you must pass a training course. This course has been designed to prepare you for the exciting and adventurous world of being a security guard. Here's how to pass this course and gain certification.

  1. The first step you need to take in order to get your SORA certification is to locate a NJ Guard Training center in your area. Visit to find one close to your home. NJ Guard is home to 6 different training locations all throughout New Jersey. It is highly recommended to view the site prior to attending a class. Doing so, the site will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding price, locations, and any other general thoughts you may be curious about.
  2. The second step in the Sora Training and Certification Process is to be completed after you register for a class. Is is mandatory as well to get your 30-day temporary certification card. This card will be needed when you take your class, so make sure that the class is within that same 30 day period (that you get your card). It is also a must to register with the state police. If you're not registered, you will not be able to attend the class. Finally, once registered it is here that you will receive your temporary 30-day certificate, as well as the Sagem Morpho Fingerprint Form.
  3. For the third and final step you will need to complete the Sagem Morpho Fingerprint Form and have it submitted with your fingerprint scan. It is easier and saves time if you enroll on line at Make sure that you bring two forms of ID when you are going to have your fingerprints scanned.

You will also need to bring two forms of ID, and two copies of your temporary certification the day of your Sora Training and Certification class.
