Do you have moments when you feel like you cannot think or you do not feel satisfied with how you are living your life?  Is it making you think of making a personal development plan?  If you are thinking these questions, then you have just made the first step, which is recognizing the problem.  Before you can plan on what you want to change with your life, you will have to recognize that change is needed.

So, how exactly do you proceed from here on?  What will you do to prepare a personal development plan?

  1. Set a timetable.  It is known by many that when a certain task is given a deadline, that task will be accomplished on that day or near that day.  The significance of this is that you will be trying to accomplish what you want to achieve before that day comes.  Regardless of the result, whether that deadline will be followed or not, the chances of accomplishing something is great.  If you do not have a deadline to pursue, there is a great possibility that none of what you plan to do will be done at all.
  2. Plan to build something new in your life.  Change is always accompanied with something new.  What makes change so interesting is the fact that it will open new and possibly life changing experiences.  With this new avenue, you will be able to establish a new personality or a new relationship just like being reborn.  There is no point in trying to set up a personal development plan if you will not take the risk of losing what you have right now.
  3. Organize yourself.  This goal of yours is all about you.  Everything about it comes from you and everything it will reap will go to you.  So, if you want to have a promotion, plan your moves according to what you want.  Do not base your plans on what your career needs you to be because if you do so, then you will remain unsatisfied and stuck with your ideas.
  4. Evaluate and reevaluate what you really want.  This is to make sure that you will not regret the rewards and consequences of each change that you might achieve.  Sometimes, you think that this is what you want but the truth of the matter is you do not know what it is you want.  It might not be very important to take notice of this step now but if you notice something very displeasing about it later, it might be too late to turn your back.
  5. Plan the first move.  The most difficult part of a plan is implementing it.  When the plan is set on the paper, you have to gather your strength and resources to make your plans come to life.  Planning on how to make the first steps done can help in making the rest of the plan follow through.

When you are trying to make a personal development plan, always remember the key words time, new, self, evaluate, and act.   Remember these words and you will never fail to achieve your goals.
