Many of you are fond of watching crime stories and other stories pertaining to crimes, factual or fiction, like CSI, Cold Case, Cold Case Files and other documentaries on Crime and Investigation Channel. You are probably fascinated with the state of the art equipment and high tech facilities that they make use of and they make me wonder whether these pieces of equipment are really true or not. Some of you may be interested with the minds of the criminals that they deal with, especially with the documentaries that the Crime and Investigation channel present.
You have to consider that these crimes not only happen around us but they also happen in the cyber world. That's why the lawmakers now are making laws that will also cover the Internet to make sure that those felons who commit crimes on the Internet could not get away with it.
There are many jobs that deal with crimes like lawyers who defend individuals who committed acts of misconduct. Here are some examples of jobs that deal with crimes:
- A Criminal Defense Attorney is a lawyer who specializes in defending individuals or criminals or even companies that are being charged with different acts of criminal conduct. Criminal lawyers are employed usually by the government like counties, federal government or even states and these lawyers are often called public defenders. These people are very knowledgeable when it comes to criminal justice or even criminal law.
- A Crime Scene Technician or crime scene investigator is someone who does crime scene investigations and scene clean up. This job is considered a white collar job. The main goals and objectives of these people are the collection, maintenance and preservation, transportation, proper packaging and documentation of physical evidence that was left at a scene of a crime.
- Policemen are part of a public force authorized to uphold and enforce law and order.
- Crime Analysts work on strategic, tactical or administrative work. A tactical crime analyst concentrates on crimes, which cause immediate threat. Strategic crime analysts create decisions about the different levels of presence by the police in preventing crime. Administrative crime analysts give and make special reports for the heads of police, make speeches about crime, examine criminal relationships and other organizations.
The majority of these jobs that are related with crimes have the responsibility and accountability to prevent crime. The work is very multifaceted and it usually involves a lot of different tasks. Generally, applicants of crime jobs require them to hold at least a bachelor's degree with majors in Psychology, or Criminal Justice or even Sociology. Some police agencies require applicants only two years in college and at least two years of experience in the field. The requirement actually differs because some agencies require the applicants to complete a certificate program. If you want to become a policeman, having knowledge in law enforcement can be a plus.
If you are considering pursuing one of the aforementioned jobs, then you can expect a salary between $1,900 to $2,500 per month. Those who have more experience or adequate experience then you can expect to earn at least $2,600 to $3,000 monthly.
