How To Apply to Become a Contributor

Applying to become a contributor is easy! Simply click "apply now" and begin the 3-step application process. The application allows you to select which categories you'd like to contribute to and gives you the opportunity to explain why you are qualified in each area. Please be sure to include an explanation for each subcategory that you apply to, otherwise the editors will have no way to determine your level of expertise for each area.

1. Click on the "Apply Now" Link. Go to HowToDoThings.com and click on the "apply now" link. This will redirect you to the 3-step member application process.
2. Register. To register you must provide your first name, last name, email address, username and a password. Then you'll be asked to answer a simple math problem to verify that you're real (and not spam). Read through and check the box to "accept" our terms and conditions, then click "Next" to get to the next step.
3. Tell us why you're an expert. Click on the main category title to see a drop-down list of the subcategories you can apply for. Keep clicking down through the category headings until you see a check box appear. This indicates that you have reached the lowest category level. Check the box of each category that you'd like to apply for.

   Then tell us why you're an expert in each of these categories in the field provided below. Please be specific. The more information you give us about why you're an expert, then more likely it is that your application will be quickly approved.

   When you've finished with your areas of expertise explanation, click submit.

4. Share your knowledge! You can start writing articles even before your expertise application has been approved. If you have a great article idea, or simply want to take a look at the article submission process, you can. Click on "write an article" or any of the other links provided.

You'll receive a welcome email shortly and your application will be reviewed within a few business days.
