How To Correct an eBay Listing with Bids

If you want to alter information on your posted items on eBay, then alter the information on your eBay auction before anyone bids on your items. Remember that eBay has restricted policies to secure the bidders. There are steps that you can do to inform the bidders so they won't get confused. It's also a way to protect your reputation as an online seller. Below are steps and tips on how to correct your eBay listing with bids.

  • Understand the restrictions on eBay's policy regarding bidding. Carefully read eBay's terms and conditions before signing up with this Internet auction website. Remember that you cannot remove items from your auction listing when there are bids on your posted items. Also, you cannot alter the listing's duration and the prices that you indicate with your posted items, which include the reserve price and buy it now price. But you can add some information like alternative payment schemes, and you can also change the description of your item. Understand the allowed changes in your eBay listing. If there are no bids in your posted items and if your auction will not end in the next twelve hours, then change the payment methods, pictures, reserve price, buy it now price, minimum price, category, description, and title of your items if you so desire. You can also alter the remaining days where your listing will be displayed on eBay. But if the auction items are just a few hours old, then you cannot extend the duration of your posted items.
  • Sign-in to your eBay account. Navigate your auction listing page and go to your items that you want to change. Click the revise button on the listing page. The form that you use to list items will be on display, but this time, you need to add descriptions and other payment methods. The item descriptions and payment methods that you will add will be dated and separated on your eBay's auction listing.
  • Correct any mistakes in your original listing. Explain the additional information so your bidders won't be confused. Your original item descriptions will be displayed so you can clear-up the changes to the bidders. If you cannot change your item's condition or you aren't sure what to put on your lists, then just cancel your auctions and relist them once you're assured on the details.
  • Click the verify button after you've finished making changes. The changes will become visible. If you desire to put additional information, then click the back button so you can go back to your listing form and add, remove, or alter information.
  • Click the submit revisions key. Double check your information before clicking the button. Your updated listing in your eBay auction will become immediately displayed as you click the submit revisions button. Remember that there is a time limitation for your posted items. You can create 1,3,5,7, or 10 auction days.
