If have an existing stock portfolio or want to keep track of some stocks that you may be interested in, Google Finance is an online application that will provide you easy and fast access to stock and financial information. This will assist you in monitoring the performance of your existing and prospective investment portfolio anywhere you go. Sign up for a new account. If you do not have an existing account, sign up for a free account now. Visit google.com/finance and sign up for a free Google account to be able to access the features of the site. Click the “sign in” link at the upper right hand corner of the page to direct you to the Google Finance sign in page. To create your new account, click on the “Create an account now” located below the sign in box. Sign in to Google Finance. If you have an existing Google Finance account, sign in by accessing google.com/finance and click the “sign in” link. Fill in the username and password for your account and the page will be redirected to your personal Google Finance page.
Explore the Google Finance menu. The first page you will see when you log in will be the “markets” page where you will see various information regarding the DOW, S&P 500, and NASDAQ. Aside from these, you will see the latest updates for some of the more popular stocks in the market. If you click on the “News” menu on the left side, you will be transferred to a page where all the current and most recent news about certain stocks will be posted for you to peruse.
Create your portfolio. To create your portfolio, click on the “Portfolio” menu link at the left side of the page. This will bring up your personal investment portfolio. In this page, you can add the name of the company you want to track and monitor on the field provided and click “Add to portfolio”. This will add the company to your portfolio where you will see its daily performance and news. You can click on that portfolio and you will be directed to a page where all the information needed by you to make a smart investment decision will be available for perusal.
Buy and sell through Google Finance. You may use Google Finance to purchase shares of stock for the companies in your portfolio as well. If you have purchase stock outside of Google Finance, you can still use it to track your investment by entering the transaction details on the “Transactions” tab.
Google Finance makes it easy for you to create a stock portfolio to help you monitor and manage your investments anywhere and everywhere.
