Believe it or not, there are people out there who have found ways to have additional income online.  They may not be rich but these days, everyone can use an extra dollar or two.  It’s just a matter of finding a method that suits each individual.

If you like to write, there are many companies hiring web or content writers.  Professional experience is not always necessary, but strong knowledge of the English language is highly recommended as well as excellent punctuation and grammar.  It is important to read each company’s submission guidelines before submitting anything to be published.  Some pay up front or by view - there are a few companies that incorporate both - and most have a payout minimum or a set payment schedule.

For the amateur filmmaker, there are online companies that will pay for your videos. Videos must have a professional look and can be informative or humorous.  Read the guidelines carefully to ensure that what you are sending meets the needs of the company.

If photography is your thing, stock photo companies would like to hear from you as they always seek new images to add to their library.  Up front pay is rare, but the artist is paid each time her work is downloaded by a user. Before submitting, make sure that your pictures are as flawless as possible.  If your photos seem a bit blurry or the lighting may not be right, then it is best to keep them in your own collection as stock photo companies can be very selective.

Start a blog or website that features the best of what you have to offer such as consumer tips, entertainment or special interests such as golf, without giving too much away.  Once an audience has been established, you can join affiliate programs and receive paid advertisements for additional income.

If you enjoy selling, there are many online companies who offer commission-based opportunities.  Or, if you have items to sell, then look into e-merchant programs.  Most require no up front cost and take a small percentage of every sale you make.  For those who like human interaction but not closing a sale, mystery shopping or weekend demonstrator jobs may be ideal as these positions are normally flexible with any schedule.

For those with reporting or legal skills, your expertise can used as a court researcher, or you can apply to be on an e-jury where trial cases are heard and your input is received by a real court of law.

If you desire something less serious, joining a research forum where you can give your opinion may be ideal.  While joining and participating are fairly easy, this is one of the slower-paying ways to earn extra income online.

So it is possible to find additional income online; it takes a while, but over time it will add up!
