How To Import Songs to iTunes from a CD

Everyone is just crazy about iTunes. Who wouldn’t be? If you are a music or movie lover then this is the software that you simply should have. It integrates all that you have online such as music and video then connects with your iPod, iPhone, etc. You can also buy the latest song you heard at a minimal price. What some people do not know is you can also import songs from your CD to iTunes. Check out the steps below to find out how.

  • Go to iTunes on the Apple website and you will immediately see the download button. You will be asked for your email address and your location, fill that in and then download. Install it on your PC once done.
  • Once you got iTunes installed. Open it and see if it was installed correctly by selecting a sample music. If it works then you’re good to go.
  • Get your CD and insert it on the CD Rom compartment. Make sure it’s free from dust to avoid any errors while loading. If your CD has been stored away for a long time, you can use a CD cleaner before using or doing a quick wipe with a clean cloth should do the trick.
  • One of the good thing about iTunes is it will have a track list where it could immediately read the CD you just loaded on the CD Rom. It will begin reading or processing.
  • Click on the name of the CD to see all the songs listed. Every song will have a checked box. If you want everything to be transferred leave it as is and click on import. This will transfer all of the songs in your CD to iTunes.
  • However, if you only need a selection of songs, you need to remove the check on the song title. You might be surprised that you can see the song title, artist etc upon beginning the transfer. This is because this software has a database that holds millions of information on album and records. Of course that means you have to be online or connected to the internet when doing this.
  • The import function can be seen on the upper right corner of the page. Once you click on this, the transfer of your favorite songs will begin. It will provide quality compression for all of the songs so you will never complain about the quality of your imported songs. Once you are done you can just eject the CD.
  • As a last note, If you want to be importing several CD’s you can just go to iTunes preferences. What you need to do is choose Advanced. Next step is import and then the “import songs and eject” choice. This will enable iTunes to quickly transfer songs from each of the CD’s and automatically eject to get ready for the next CD you need to import.

It’s quick and easy to transfer your music files from your CD to iTunes. From here you can experiment with different mixes, integrate with other digital media. It is up to you. Be creative. After all it is iTunes.
