How To Make Return Address Labels with Microsoft Works

You do not have to order address labels from a fancy address label company if you have your own printer at home. You can create fancy address labels right from the comfort of your own home sitting in front of your own computer.

The computer program that we will be using is Microsoft Works, which comes with the Windows Operating System. The program consists of a word processor as well as the spreadsheet and database programs. Creating return address labels in Microsoft Works is an easy task to complete.

Step 1:

You will want to open your Microsoft Works program. You do this by going to Start on the operating system and click on start, then you want to go to programs. Once you Click on programs, you will see the Microsoft Works box and this is where you will click on Works Word processor. Once inside the program you will need to click on the tools box. This is where you will want to then select labels.

Step 2:

You will then need to click on the activate radio button beside the return address label box. Once you have done this you will then want to click on the okay button.

Step 3:

You will then want to click on the manufacturer and the product number for the labels that you will be printing from your computer. The product number can be found on the package for the address labels that you purchased. You will then want to select to start a new document.

Step 4:

Once you have done this, you will want to select the first address label box for the sheet of labels. Once you have selected the box, you will want to fill in the return address that you want to use on your return address labels. Once you have selected this and have typed in your address then the rest of the address labels should be a shadow of gray and will appear as if they are blank. However, this is just in this view that they are blank. Once you begin to print, the address labels will be filled in. The labels will contain all the same address unless you entered a different address for each label. Once you have done this you will want to then save.

Step 5:

Make sure that you save your document in this setting. Go to the File tab and then click on Save As, once you click on this it will prompt you to how you want to save the document. You can either save it as a wps file or you can save it as a doc file. Either way it will be easy to access it later on down the road.

Step 6:

You will then want to print your labels. Go to file and select the print option. Once you have done this, select the paper that you are using and once this is done just simply hit the print button.
