How To Upload a Photo to Your HowToDoThings Public Profile

Our members and contributors are what makes HowToDoThings unique. Our visitors come to the site to learn how to do something from someone who has experience, and they are interested in learning about our writers. Contributors who have photos in their profile tend to have more visits to their profile pages. We also highlight our best and most active contributors on the homepage of the site and in our newsletter, and in order to be considered as the featured contributor, you must have a photo in your profile. (Note: to be selected, you must also have a minimum of 30 points, which would make you a ‘Passionate' contributor - visit the Points Explanation page to learn more about how to earn points on HowToDoThings.)

Adding a photo to your profile is easy - here's how to do it:

1. When logged in to HowToDoThings.com, click on My Dashboard (in the top right corner of the screen).
2. Under ‘My Profile' click on ‘Edit my Profile'.
3. Scroll down to ‘Upload picture'; click on ‘Browse'.
4. Search your files to find the image you want to upload; click on the image, then click on ‘Open'. Note that the photo you select will be reduced to fit our maximum size requirements (75x75 pixels, 30kb); the photo you select must be larger than this to ensure that quality is optimized once the photo is resized to meet our requirements.
5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on ‘Submit'.

Your photo is now available for others to see. You can go back and change your photo any time you want.
