How To Upload Videos to Facebook from Your Cell Phone

Facebook is not just available on a computer through a web browser. It is also accessible on your cell phone. If you are always on the go and you don’t have time to sit down in front of your desktop, you can still upload content to your profile. Read on to learn how exactly you can upload videos to Facebook from your cell phone.

  • Log in to your Facebook account. Open a new web browser and type in facebook.com. If you are already registered with Facebook, type in your email address and your password. If you do not have a Facebook account yet, simply click on the ‘Sign Up’ button. For starters, enter your name, email address, desired password, sex and birthday to create a new Facebook account.
  • Check your upload email for Facebook. A personalized Facebook email address is needed in order for you to upload videos to Facebook from your cell phone. To check what your personalized Facebook email address is, go to www.facebook.com/mobile. On the lower-right portion of the page, under the section ‘Upload via Email’ you will see the personalized email address assigned to you by Facebook. It will look like this: ‘uniqueemailaddress@m.facebook.com. Take note of this email address because this is what you will be using every time you want to upload mobile content on Facebook. To make things easier for you, save the Facebook email address as a contact on your cell phone.
  • Upload videos to your Facebook account from your cell phone. Locate the cell phone video that you want to upload on Facebook. Select ‘Send’ and then enter the personalized Facebook email address in the ‘To’ field. Type in a subject for the email; this will be used as the caption of the video once it is uploaded on Facebook. This is also the step that you will follow if you want to upload a photo from your cell phone to Facebook. If you send an email without a photo or video attached, the email subject will be used to update your ‘Status’ instead.
  • Check the uploaded video on Facebook. If you want to check if the video was indeed uploaded on Facebook, simply log in to your account using your computer. Videos and photos uploaded from the cell phone will automatically be placed in the ‘Mobile Uploads’ album. By default, the Mobile Uploads album is viewable by everyone. If you want to change this setting, go to ‘Account’, select ‘Privacy Setting’ and click on ‘Customize Settings’. Scroll down a bit and click on ‘Edit album privacy’ and select the privacy setting you want for the Mobile Uploads album.

Facebook will charge you nil if you upload content from your cell phone. However, your mobile service provider may charge for picture messaging or text messaging. Be sure to check with your mobile service provider for such charges before you upload mobile content to Facebook.
