Image analysis is the pulling out of meaningful data from images through some sophisticated techniques. Image analysis can be simple as well as complicated. Tools are used and aimed at better understanding and identification of diseases, or at measuring the productivity and safety of technology processes in the area of image analysis.

  1. Tools Used for Image Analysis - Computers are very important tools used for the analysis of large amounts of data, for complex computation, or for drawing out quantitative information. Another tool for image analysis is the visual cortex of the human being. This excellent apparatus is used particularly for extracting complex information. The human visual cortex can be used for many applications - medicine, remote sensing and security. Machines can never replace humans. Neural networks and edge detectors are only inspired by humans.
  2. Uses of Image Analysis - Image analyses are used for quantification and processing of life images. They are great tools for spot detection and counting viruses and genes. CAD software is used to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis and interprets the condition of the patient, progress of the disease and the effect of treatment. The software is also used in the analysis of histological biopsies and the movement and shape of viruses. Industries have since been active in producing machines and tools to help customers in analyzing the images they detected and then interpreting such images on every detail. Minute cell structures and clear images are given appropriate analysis similar to the human cognitive capacity.

Our present technology enables customers to function accurately and make faster conclusions. With the help of technology, deeper insights on every task make the customer comfortable in waiting for results. Better image analysis was aimed by our industries in order to make a straightforward data analysis. Alpha View 3.0 is a user-friendly software, which was released by Alpha Innotech Corp. It has an improved and increased laboratory workflow; with just a few clicks, scientists are able to capture and analyze data. The software enables the customer to simply generate significant data from their studies.

Another tool in imaging, which uses fluorescent stains, is the confocal laser scanning microscopy or CLSM. CLSM is a powerful tool to investigate the structure of biofilms. Bacteria in biofilms are resistant to antibiotics and antimicrobials thereby affecting the analysis of an image. With CLSM, accurate image analysis method made possible that the visual data can be converted to numbers.

BioImage_L is another software used in image analysis for the routine categorization of the arrangement and allocation of biofilms. The new feature of bioImage_L is the use of an algorithm that mechanically identifies color tones but no monochrome conversion on separate RGB channels.

We already have a number of tools to assist in producing better image analysis. It only needs dissemination of the research to customers for emphasis on our efforts in reducing our imaging problems. Our new technologies have to be invented and delivered to automate the drawing out of useful information. Thanks to our powerful tools, our image analysis is simple and sophisticated.
