Here in this first lesson we are going to install a Type Font that will be used throughout the series, and then we are going to survey the completed applications we build throughout the series, so that you have a sense of where we are going. First, to install the Type Font note that you will need to be logged into your machine as an administrator or through an account which has administrative privileges. Go to your My Documents folder. In that folder, you should find a directory, Project Files - Flex 2 AVP. Click on the Folders button, and then expand the Project Files folder. In this folder you should see a subfolder called Series Only Font. Select that folder. You will see an Adobe OpenType Font called Poetica Std. Note that there is an End-User License Agreement and a Readme associated with this font. This font is distributed only for use in this series and cannot be used otherwise. When you are finished with the series please uninstall the font. To install this font into your operating system, scroll down to the My Computer icon and expand it. Expand Local Disk (C:), then expand the Windows folder. Scroll down until you find the Fonts folder, then select the Poetica Std file, drag and drop it into your Fonts folder. Your system should then install the Poetica Std font to your operating system. Again, please be sure to remove this font once you are finished with this series. Go ahead and close the Windows Explorer.
