I am Steve Turano. Welcome to this episode of Body Performance. Have you notice how people around look low carb, low calorie diets? Always seem to be finding the belly to bulge? And the body composition is not even that good. Well, let me give you some negative things about low carb or low calorie diet. About 30% of the weight loss is muscle loss. Because of this muscle loss, you do not have the ability to store glucose and glycogen. This trends you towards diabetes. You know the increase in the lipogenic enzymes. These are the enzymes that store body fat. And finally, because you are not taking in many carbohydrates, necessary proteins are converted by the liver in the carbohydrates to help on your body. That sacrifices the protein you need to repair your body. What all this mean? It means instead of getting thinner, you are actually getting fat. Love your body.
