Hi! I am here with a couple of tips on washing a home’s exterior. Now, this particular home, the exterior is made out of shingle. And the way, probably the best way to wash this particular home is with a power washer. Power washers are readily available. In the last 15 years they become very popular. There are ones for rent. There are ones for purchase. You can buy one for as low as $80.00 at a Home Depot type location. I have seen them there.
The important thing is to make sure that you are using the right PSI which is the output on the pounds per square inch because if it is too strong, it will actually splinter these shingles. And basically what you are going to get by using a power washer is you are going to be able to turn these brown shingles, I do not know if you can see this, but up at top there, you can see what the coloring would be like of a brand new shingle. They will turn white. They will get rid of -- the power washer will get rid of the darkness which is the aging and the actual mold, down here you can see a little bit of green mold that set in especially on a home that is near the water like this one is, you will get various shades. But, as I said, the power washer will actually make them look new. Now, this is somewhat time consuming but not -- it is well worth it. If the shingles are in good shape, it is worth taking the time to go ahead and wash it because it will restore the look of the house to almost, I do not want to say brand new but it will take many years off the look of the house. So, that is a few tips on power washing and washing a home exterior of a shingled house. Thanks!
