Swimming. Get a bunch of tots in water and you will hear shrieking laughter. Most kids like playing with water even if it is just in a simple inflatable pool. For those not yet potty trained, make sure they would be wearing swim diapers. Do not forget to bring some snacks to keep those little tummies from rumbling.

Crafts. Teach those kids to appreciate paper folding or creating simple paper toys. If you will be using glue be sure to watch the kids closely. This is an interesting activity to do and can even help your child’s brain development.

Videoke. Singing and dancing along to a tune are favorites of toddlers and preschoolers. You can just buy a character sing along DVD, set it up and watch the future superstars.

Storytelling. Go to a park and choose a nice spot. Read a story filled with animation and actions that any toddler or preschooler will be happy to listen to.

Strolling. Take your kid walking around the neighborhood when it is not too hot. This will serve as an exercise as well and serve as a bonding activity with your kid.

Backyard playhouse. Bring some of your kid’s toys outside like a toy cooking area you used to only place indoors. This will help her explore more and be one with nature. As always, keep a watchful eye.

Sprinkler fun. Turn your sprinklers on and see your kid get all playful and refreshed. Walk around or chase each other playfully. It is all good summer fun.

Bubbles. Make some bubbles or use a bubble maker at the yard. This makes a fun and free summer activity.

Toddlers and preschoolers can be easy to please yet could be such a handful so also be on your guard. If you are going to be scheduling an outdoor activity keep a small first aid kit nearby. If you are doing an indoor activity then keep fragile items where they cannot reach them. Just remember that kids will be kids and they will enjoy more when given a bit of freedom.
