Develop your curriculum, yet don't strictly follow it if you feel another learning opportunity surpasses your planned curriculum for that day. Focus on your teen's interests at this time and you will find out for what she or he is talented. Ask for help with subjects that you cannot teach. You can barter with another homeschooling family or if possible hire a tutor.
Evaluate your teen's progress, make records, reports and notes periodically, and do some standardized testing to have an accurate transcript; these are needed, especially when your teens will enter college. Most colleges and universities accept homeschooled teens.
Join some homeschooling groups for support and information; either a homeschooling group that is available in your area or an online homeschooling group.
