Let´s face it, work or school can be monotonous, and the day needs to be livened up. One of the best times to liven up and break up your day with something different is lunch time. This is the time you can sit, chat and enjoy the company of others. Lunch can be made even more interesting when it is a cooperative movement. Most people would love to share their lunch and make the event more fun, but they are often too scared to speak up or suggest the idea. All it takes is for you to speak up and make the suggestion.
One of the best ways to enjoy your lunch at school or at work is to get a group of friends or co-workers and trade lunches. There are actually two ways of doing this. You can either choose what portions of your lunch you don't really want and ask others of your group if they want to trade something for it, or you can put portions of your lunch out and have everyone else do the same on the table and let others choose from whats on the table. This way it becomes sort of like a lunch party.
- Before you start sharing your lunch, make the suggestion to your friends. You can even bring a little something extra that first day to share with your friends. Then suggest that you all share your lunch the next day. Everyone or almost everyone will come prepared that way.
- The first thing you want to do when you prepare your lunch is to remember that you will be sharing. So, when you are preparing your lunch create several mini portions. For example, if you are taking a sandwich, cut it up into four parts, this way you can share with others. If you are taking something like a salad, take an additional small paper plate and a couple of extra plastic forks.
- When lunch time rolls around take the portion of your lunch that you want and then put the rest on the table for others to enjoy. They will do the same. This way it will be like a mini pot-luck. It makes lunch fun and breaks up the monotony of the day.
You may even make lunch even more fun by bringing culturally different foods, or dishes that are a little different from the norm. This will be a good way to break up your day, and you will make better friends with your schoolmates or work companions.
