Listening to music has become a part of our daily lives. From rock to alternative, you can't pass a day without listening to one of your favorite songs. As life becomes more and more high-tech, music also evolves into many different genres. As computers enter into our lives, music evolves into mp3's. Computers, audio components and CD players now usually use the mp3 format (or mpeg-1 audio layer 3). The mp3 was made by Moving Picture Experts Groups, for the acronym MPEG.
If you purchased an audio CD from your local music store, the audio format is usually not mp3. There are many types of software that enable you to copy CDs into Mp3. Some of the popular media players enable you to copy CDs into mp3 format, but you need to purchase the full program to use these features. Ordinarlily, the trial version does not include this feature. However, there are many converter programs on the Internet that provide you with the ability to rip CDs into Mp3's. The following is basic information on how to use a basic CD to Mp3 converter:
-
Install the program - First, you need to install the program or software you have downloaded or purchased. Some of the applications require you to reboot your computer after installation. After you reboot your computer, you need to download a program that provides an audio codec. The audio codec is a desktop application that enables you to compress or decompress any digital audio files. The audio codec also gives you the option to increase or decrease the quality of any audio format, increasing or decreasing the quality of an audio file also affects the original file size of the digital audio file.

Copying songs to your CD - After you successfully install the CD ripping application to your computer, open the application, and it will automatically add the audio files and information from the audio CD. Some programs require you to manually locate the songs on your desktop. If so, after you insert the audio CD into the CD-ROM, open the CD ripping application you installed on your PC. Then look for the ADD icon in the application, and click browse. A pop-up screen will automatically be displayed. Your audio CD can be located inside the "my computer" icon for the Microsoft Windows Operating System. If you are using the Windows OS built-in Windows media player, you can locate your audio CD files in the media library tab. Using this application, it is much easier to rip music from your audio CD. But in order to use these features you need to have a genuine copy of the Microsoft Windows OS.
After you have added the music into your ripping software, you can check or uncheck any song you want to be copied or converted into mp3. By simple clicking the copy or rip button in your application, the ripping program will start to copy your music. You can locate your ripped Mp3's in the folder of the ripping application you installed on your computer.
