How To Forward Cell Phone Calls

With the advent of developments in technology, cell phones have become a daily necessity for communication. It provides an avenue for people to reconnect with each other. Throughout the years, cell phone developers continue to consistently upgrade its available features to better address the ever growing demands of the market. One of these features is call forwarding.

Living in a busy and challenging environment where most are always on the move or in a meeting one after the other, cell phone call forwarding provides a useful service for cell phone owners. It has become a standard element on most cell phones. This feature allows an incoming call to be redirected to another number, be it a landline or a mobile phone number. For some, it is useful when the cell phone is running low on batteries or on credits. Others use it to redirect incoming calls to an office secretary especially during a day full of meetings at work. Still, others utilize it to forward calls to a current location. To take advantage of this feature of your phone, here is a simple guide to help you forward cell phone calls:

  • Prepare your cell phone and charger. Setting up cell phone forwarding is multi-step task. If you are low on batteries, make sure you have your charger next to you to avoid any unnecessary interruptions.
  • Locate the “Settings” menu. From the main screen, browse through your icons to find the “Settings” menu. Once you find it, select it.
  • Select the “Call Settings” menu. Scroll through the options under the “Settings” menu until you find the “Call Settings” option. Once available, click it.
  • Select “Call Forwarding.” Under the “Call Settings” menu, you can find “Call Forwarding.” Select this option to proceed.
  • Choose which of your incoming calls you want to be redirected. A prompt will ask you which calls you want to be forwarded. You can choose to specify one or several cell phone or landline numbers or you can simply choose to forward all incoming calls.
  • Indicate the number where you want your calls to be forwarded. In the “Forward To” option, type in the 10-digit number of the phone where you want your calls to be received.
  • Click on the “OK” button. Your call forwarding feature is only activated after selecting “OK.”

Once activated, keep in mind that it continually forwards and transfers incoming calls unless you manually deactivate the service. Your mobile phone no longer gives you warning. Hence, it is imperative to double check its status if an important call is being expected. Some service providers may charge additional fees for the use of this feature, while some provide for free.

It is important to note that there are minor differences among cell phones and in the way call forwarding is activated. At the very least, this guide gives a good idea on how to go about it. The order in which the steps go about will most likely remain the same. For more information, you can refer to your user’s manual. If after completing the steps above you still cannot forward your calls, contact your service provider and inquire whether it is indeed available in your area or if there is something else you need to do to have it activated.
