Any iPod user will tell you that he can't live without this tiny musical device. Packed full of songs, movies, pictures and other fun files, an iPod provides hours of entertainment to anyone who has one. And it's easy to upload new files onto your iPod. In a few minutes, you can easily transfer songs from iTunes to your iPod by following this guide.
Step 1:

Install iTunes. If you own an iPod, then it likely came with a copy of Apple's music software for you iPod, called iTunes. If you don't have a copy of this software available, you can download it for free from http://www.apple.com/, or you can borrow the installation disk from a friend. Insert the CD into your CD drive and follow the instructions to install this program into your computer, or click on "setup" in the file folder to begin installation. Open the program once you have successfully installed it.

Step 2:

Download songs to your music library. In order for you to transfer songs form iTunes to your iPod, the songs first need to be in your music library on iTunes. This is simple to do. You can download mp3 songs from the internet (for as little as 99¢). Do a quick search of your favorite artist and you'll quickly come across lots of songs available for download to your computer. Make sure that you choose to save these songs in a file you can easily find. Ideally, you should save the songs you download directly to your iTunes library. (Browse for the appropriate file when the website asks you where to save the song.)

Step 3:

Rip songs from CD to iTunes. Another way to get songs into your iTunes library so that you can later transfer them to your iPod is to rip the songs from CDs you have in your CD collection. Simply insert the CD into your computer's CD drive when you have iTunes open. Click on "yes" to import the songs, and then make sure each song has a title name and artist name. If not, right click on each track and add this information yourself using the "Get Info" button. (If you don't take the time to label your songs, you won't be able to find them on your iPod.) If you are connected to the internet, iTunes will likely complete this process for you.

Step 4:

Choose the songs you want to transfer to your iPod from iTunes. Once you have your chosen songs copied into your music library in iTunes, you can easily transfer them onto your iPod. Plug your iPod's USB cable into the bottom of your iPod and also into your computer. Wait for your iPod's name to show up on the left side of your iTunes screen to ensure you have connected your iPod correctly.

Once your iPod is connected to iTunes, begin to transfer the songs into your mp3 player. Simply click, drag, and drop each song from your library onto your iPod's name. Or, right click and choose to add each song to your iPod. Wait for the circular arrow icon to disappear after you transfer each song, and you will have successfully transferred a song from iTunes to your iPod. You can repeat this transfer process as many times as you like until your iPod is full of all your favorite tunes.
