You have graduated and are now off to college. Now you must decide if you will live in the dorms or live at home. There are several benefits to staying at home for at least the first couple of years of college.
- The first and most important thing is the economic advantage of it. You will not have to pay for a dorm room, furnishings for it, and other necessities you would need to stay in dorms. Staying at home could save you a bundle of money which you could put back and save so that you may be able to stay in a dorm if you will be going to a college farther away from home.
- Another excellent benefit of staying at home when going to college is the fact that you will have a quieter less active place to sleep, study, and relax. You will not have to share a room or bathroom with anyone either.
- Although a dorm can be a fun place to stay, you must be aware of why you are going to college in the first place. This would be another benefit of living at home during college at least for the first couple of years. You will have time to get settled into the school and hopefully get your harder courses out of the way.
- Safety may be another benefit of staying at home during college days. With dorms getting robbed, fires started, and other harmful events, you may be a lot safer in your home than in a dorm.
- Staying at home may also benefit you in the fact that you will not have to share the room with anyone else. This way you will not have to worry about being bothered by anyone when trying to study or relax. You will not have to worry about debating with a roommate about music, what time to go to bed (in case they like to stay up late), and other things most roommates can find to argue about.
- Comfort is a big benefit of staying at home. You will be in your own bed in your own room making you more comfortable and able to get some sleep and rest.
- Staying at home can also have another economic benefit in the fact that you will save a bundle of money on food.
Therefore, dorms can be fun and exciting. However, staying at home can have numerous benefits and advantages (especially for the first couple of years of college).
