Andrea Hermitt

After getting married and moving to Rochester NY, she worked as a property manager while doing occasional art and decorating projects for several years. In 1998, she moved to New Orleans where she worked as a design assistant at Modern Flooring and Interiors, before becoming an independent muralist and decorator. At this point, she began giving design advice on the Internet on Ask.com (later sold to askjeeves) where she was a highly rated advisor. This was followed by a year in Rockland County NY where she worked for Leader Carpet and worked in sales and custom design. She also wrote an internet column giving interior design advice on ThemeStream.com until the internet company closed. Upon moving to Lawrenceville GA, she did freelance mural and kids room decorating full time for two years before experiencing a major change in life. She and her husband decided to home school their kids. She chronicled her first year home schooling in her blog Notes from a Homeschooling Mom, and later compiled the entries into a book by the same name, which is available in e-book form.

Andrea Continues to paint moveable murals, other art, and accessories from home. Some Items are available on Ebay. She also schedules muralists for in-home work while writing a dozen or more articles in a week. She is also available for book or article illustration. She has been married 14+ years and has 2 children, ages 9 and 11. ...And no, she doesn't sleep much!
