A premade fountain is about the easiest water feature you can install. You simply purchase a fountain, assemble, fill, and plug it in. That’s it! But you will need to know how to level your fountain and have a safe power source. Here’s how; position the fountain where you would like it and test level. If the fountain is on a hard surface, you may want to use shims to get it level. If it’s on soil, dig out 1 to 2 inches and pour in a ½ inch to 1 inch of sand to help level the fountain. You’ll need a GFCI outlet. Concealing the cord is the biggest challenge to installing this kind of a fountain. You can cover it with mulch, soil, or gravel. If placing the fountain on a deck, consider drilling a hole so that the cord cannot be seen.
