So you have mastered shooting the ball close to hoop. Now let's take it a couple steps back. Long distance shooting; this is probably the most exciting part of basketball because the crowd gets into it when someone has a confidence to shoot the ball, a way beyond the three-point line. The key to shooting the ball long range is still the same. Footwork, form, and follow through. The only difference is there is a greater emphasis on footwork because this is where your power comes from. To become a long range bomber you have to be able to release the ball at the top of your jump shot. As soon as you feet leave the ground that ball should be on its way. If not, you will find that you will be shooting a lot of air balls due to the lack of power, jump work and footwork. Practice often and daily.
