How To Make a Cascading Bouquet

To dress up your wedding day, consider creating a traditionally romantic cascading bouquet instead of the more contemporary round bouquet. Gather your flowers and follow these simple steps to create a bridal bouquet that flows from your fingers like a waterfall of flowing blooms. These directions work for cut or silk flowers.

Materials:
12-15 Medium sized flowers
15-20 Small sized flowers
(Instead of individual stems, you can buy sprays of coordinated flower clusters.)
12-15 stems of greenery
Ribbon
Floral stem wrap
Bouquet holder

Tools:
Glue gun & glue sticks
Scissors

Additional materials for cut flowers:
Floral foam
Bowl
Water
Refrigerator

How To Look Good in Your Wedding Photos

Of course the very best memories of your wedding will be captured by your mind's eye, not the camera. But the photos will be what end up in the album, so might as well look your best! Here are a few tips to looking good in your wedding photos:

Don't skimp on the photographer. Everyone looks for places to trim costs when planning a wedding, but skimping on your photography budget is not the place to do it. If you have a choice between a photographer and a photographer and an assistant, go for the latter since two sets of eyes are better than one. Also ask for a wide variety of shots--color, black and white, candid and posed--and increase the options you have to choose from.

How To Preserve Wedding Dresses

Your wedding gown is the dress you've dreamt of and imagined yourself wearing on that wonderful day. It only makes sense that you want to take care of it the best you can. Follow these steps to make sure your dress remains gorgeous throughout the years to come.

The following steps should be taken BEFORE getting your dress professionally dry cleaned:

Purchase a clean, undyed, undersized, unbleached cotton sheet. You can find this at almost any home outfitting store, like Bed, Bath & Beyond. Make sure the sheet has as little synthetic fiber as possible!

Wash the sheet in hot water (without detergent) to remove any dirt or sizing.

On your wedding day, as soon as you take the dress off, wrap it in the sheet. NEVER store your gown in a plastic bag. Plastics decompose, causing rapid oxidation of the fabric, which will leave acid residues on your dress!
How To Call Off a Wedding

What you are about to do will be stressful, awkward, embarrassing and hurtful, and one of the hardest things you've ever done. But it will be good for you. How can calling off a wedding be good for you? Because you are listening to your inner guidance. Finally. Somehow you had convinced yourself that marrying your fiance was the right thing to do and for months now, you've squelched that inner voice screaming "no."

But you came to your senses. Before the wedding! Many women hear that same voice but choose not to listen because they're scared-scared of what people will say, scared of hurting feelings, scared that they won't meet another man-scared, scared, scared. In store for them and their families are years of unhappiness that could have been prevented if only they'd had the courage to listen to themselves.

That being said, these next few weeks won't be easy. Here are a few pointers to get you through them intact:

How To Find Plus Size Wedding Dresses

It may take a bit of looking but finding the right plus size gown is not only possible, but also easier than you think.

Wedding gowns are usually ordered a year in advance. If you are going to diet and intend on losing some weight before the wedding, be honest with yourself. Ask yourself if the extra weight is something you actually can lose. If you have been overweight all your life, chances are the weight will still be with you for your wedding. Order the dress in the size you are now and if you do lose weight, alterations can be made before the big day.

Have someone go with you when you shop for the gown. A relative or close friend will give you some honest feedback as you try the dresses on.

Keep to a style that goes straight down or only flares slightly. A flared out dress will only make you look larger than you really are.
How To Buy Flower Girl Dresses

If you have decided to have a flower girl in your wedding, you will need to select a dress for her to wear. Here are some tips on buying a great flower girl dress for your littlest bridal attendant.

Who picks the dress? Traditionally, the bride-to-be chooses the flower girl's dress, just as she picks the bridesmaids' gowns. However, in some instances, the bride may ask the flower girl's mother to select an appropriate dress, within constraints (such as color or length).

Who pays for the flower girl's dress? Usually, the parents of the flower girl are responsible for buying her dress, although you can certainly offer to help them with the purchase if you are so inclined.
How To Plan a Bachelorette Party Scavenger Hunt

We've all been a part of the madness that ensues when a group of our best gals hit the town for a bachelorette party. This right of passage for the bride should be a memorable experience with her best friends and family at her side taking part in all the fun and games. The main goals for most bachelorette parties are drinking and embarrassing the bride-to-be. Scavenger hunts are a good way to get her in some compromising positions. There are two ways to prepare a scavenger hunt, one for just the bride or you can get the whole group involved.

 For the bride

Get your cameras ready for some interesting snapshots. After the honeymoon you can gather again to share the memories.

How To Buy Bridesmaids' Dresses

Buying bridesmaids' dresses can be one of the most fun parts of planning your wedding. It can also be one of the most stressful. Traditionally, the bride will pick out the color, and the girls will decide and agree on the style. The only exception being that the necklines of the bridesmaid's dresses should be similar to the neckline of the bridal gown.

When it comes to color, the most common practice is to pick one solid color, such as blue or teal for example. All the girls wear the same color and the same dress. This includes the maid of honor.

The bride may also decide on one color for all the bridesmaids but select a different color, or shade of the color (lighter or darker) for the maid of honor.

The rainbow wedding is another option. This is where each girl wears her own color, but the same style dress. These colors are usually pastel, but darker colors can work just as well.
