We've all seen the cliche scenario for a wedding reception. It's usually done in a very predictably decorated reception hall after a ceremony done at a nearby wedding chapel. We've probably all wanted to make sure that our wedding will not end up being that predictable. We all want a little pizazz in our receptions, right? If you want a memorable wedding, consider other possible wedding locations and reception plans other than what people are used to.
- The desert - This is a great idea. The cool breezy air would definitely make things interesting, as the sand is stirred up from behind the large crops of cacti. This might be the perfect outdoor wedding setting and probably among the best reception venues. Rather than having the wedding in a very drab wedding chapel, and the reception in a drab hotel, why not break the rules and have both in an exotic dessert location? The wedding ceremony could even include rituals from the old Native Americans that lived here long ago.
- The beach - Beach weddings are popular in the movies. A guy and a girl on a pristine white beach, in summer clothes go running across the beach as they rush across the strip of sand that serves as the altar. It's very romantic. This is probably even more romantic than any wedding chapel you can find. As for the reception, you could have a picnic by the sea. Instead of stuffy reception halls, why not spend your reception with sand in your feet and the sun or stars in the sky. This makes the event truly grounded and simple instead of being too pretentious in a decked out chapel.
- A garden - This has been popular in recent years. After all, who wouldn't want to get married in a serene, peaceful garden? If the flowers are in bloom and the hedges are well taken care of, it is impossible not to feel the romance in the air. The flowers also lend a sweet scent that puts the guests in the mood for a nice ceremony. Again, this is much better than the usual wedding chapel scenario, which might make people feel uncomfortable. The wedding party can then proceed afterwards in a separate section of the garden making the whole event something that can be treasured by the attendees for years to come.
- The local football field or baseball park - If you want to have a big wedding, why not just do it in style with a grand ceremony with hundreds of people? At the local football field or ballpark, you can say your "I do's" on a grand stage! It truly is a great way for you to share your love and romance with so many people.
Weddings are memorable events, and what better way to remember these by than if you choose an uncommon and creative way to celebrate?
