Office intimacy is considered an ultimate taboo yet it is widely practiced. Employers frown on it and employees are mindful not to have a relationships with their co-workers. Despite its prohibition, employers and employees engage in sex as a means to exploit the relationship chancing sexual harassment incriminations. Conversely, employees do engage in intimacy simply because they spend so much time together and because of that closeness, find themselves attracted to one another.
Those relationships that engaged in as a means of career advancement or exploitation are developed and nurtured. Often when an individual is hired, the employee or employer makes a decision that there will be sexual relations. The individual will manipulate situations so that they are alone with the object of their attention. Seduction is often a part of the nurturing, as are promises for advancements. Intimate relationships of this type can be dangerous and have the ability to ruin lives.
Exploited office sex has negative connotation no matter the circumstance. In each scenario, there is a loser and a winner and ultimately, someone is hurt by the relationship. Couples in committed relationships break up, individuals lose their jobs and lawsuits ignite. Either because they could not be coerced or, the coercer was not able to get the results that they once did.
The beginning stages of office sex begin with the amount of time that is spent at the office. In today's world, the typical professional spends 10 hours per day in the office. Colleagues that work closely together on projects, spending great spans of time away from their spouses or significant others often find themselves relating to each other. Innocently friendly relations begin and, end up becoming intimate.
There is usually tension between the individuals involved that is felt not only by them but also, by those around them. This tension grows until either party chooses to ignore it or, act on the feeling. These feelings can be strong and have the ability to over-ride good judgment.
Sex in the office is not a well laid out plan whether it is free will or exploited. Intimacy due to proximity is natural in and of itself, unless of course, either participant has a partner. It is rare the participant(s) that has the ability to remain emotionally unaffected. If one or the other has that ability, then the other is emotionally injured and, negative emotional charges can ignite in the office and become toxic for both.
