How To Avoid Neighbors

Today, we live in a society where we are bombarded with people around us. There is no way to get away from all of the people. When we go home, the same thing exists, especially with neighbors. It seems like there is no way to have any alone time. There are ways to at least avoid neighbors.

  • When living in a residential neighborhood, houses are so close and it can be hard to avoid neighbors. In order to avoid neighbors a person can look out of the window before going outside. This assures that no one will bother you when you go outside.
  • Build a tall wooden fence around your house. This allows for extra privacy going in and out of the house. The neighbors can easily be avoided because they won’t be able to see you come in or go out.
  • Park the car in the garage. When pulling out of the garage to go somewhere, keep the windows rolled up and make sure no cars are coming and immediately pull out of the driveway. When coming back home, you can avoid the neighbors by automatically having the garage door open and closing it behind you. That way no neighbor can bother you. You can get out of the car and go in the house without being bothered.
  • Enter through the backdoor is another way to avoid neighbors. In an apartment complex, a way to avoid neighbors is to always let the neighbor see you on a cell phone talking or listening to music with headphones on.
  • Run to the door after getting out of the car. Have the key out and ready to go inside of the house, so the neighbors don’t have an opportunity to bother you.
  • Make an excuse, if the neighbor is persistent. Tell them that you’re in a hurry to go somewhere, even if you’re just going home to relax.
  • Ignore the neighbors. A person has a right to some privacy. A persistent neighbor can be ignored, even if you’re walking or getting out of the car. When they’re trying to get your attention, just keep doing what you’re doing like you don’t even hear them.
  • Go in the opposite direction. A neighbor that is very persistent that lives on the opposite side of you can be avoided by going in the opposite direction. For instance, if a neighbor lives on the right, go to the left, if it is at all possible.
  • Turn off all of the lights in the house. Neighbors will think that you’re not home if all of the lights are turned off in the house.
  • Close all of the curtains, so that the neighbors won’t be able to see you in the house. That should be able to give them a hint that you are busy and don’t want to be bothered.
