YahooPlanning a wedding requires attention to detail because there are many steps involved in putting the whole thing together from beginning to end. From picking a date and booking a ceremony venue to buying invitations and picking a dress, many brides and grooms get bogged down with all of the details. The key to planning a wedding is organization. If you don't have what it takes to be organized and plan a wedding, you may want to consider the option of looking for companies or venues that offer wedding package deals. Even if you are organized, you can benefit from the ease of choosing a wedding package.
Pick a style. The first step to finding a wedding package is to determine the wedding style you want to have. Is a casual beach wedding in the sand with flip flops your style or are you looking for something more traditional? Once you figure out your wedding style, then you can look for venues that fit or cater to your style.
Use your resources. The good news is that there are a plethora of sources you can turn to for wedding package information. Hotels, banquet halls, wedding magazines, the Internet, and even travel agents are all great sources of information. Make a list of possible venue locations for both the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception. Once you have your list together, either make an appointment to go by and walk-thru or do your own walk-thru to get a feel for the venue. If it feels right, be sure to talk to the event coordinator for the venue to get the details.
If you are planning a local wedding, you may be aware of some locations that may offer you what you need. You can also turn to friends and family that were married in the area to see which venues offer the services you need.
Get the details. From each of the venues, find out exactly what products and services provided as part of the package you are considering. Many venues offer full-service packages, which include the venue, tables, chairs, linens, food, flowers, decorations and more. These packages may be altered and changed to fit your needs, but some offer exactly what you are looking for. Some locations offer a la carte service so you can create your own custom wedding package by choosing items one by one.
Be aware there are items not included in wedding packages. It is just as important to be aware of the items not offered in a wedding package as the ones that are included. This helps you to determine what you may need to buy on your own. Typically, wedding dresses, tuxedos or clothing of any type are not included in wedding packages. Transportation and wedding rings are also items that don't tend to be a part of wedding packages.
Wedding planner. Wedding planners are also a great source of one-stop shopping for wedding packages. While you may pay a small fee for their service, wedding planners have vendor contacts right at their fingertips. In a matter of minutes or days (sometimes longer), wedding planners can custom create a wedding package for you that fits all of your needs and wants. They usually offer a service that places them at the wedding ceremony and/or reception to oversee the details as well.
