Toddlers can be very active little children; they have a short attention span and like to explore the world around them. They are also adorable and funny, especially with the crazy things they say. Luckily it is quite easy to entertain a toddler. However, given their short attention spans, you have to find activities they will want to be engaged in for more than just a few minutes in order to keep them interested. Keeping a toddler entertained with free activities is not only possible, it can be a lot of fun and engaging for both you and your child.

Although toddlers can be pretty fidgety at times, most tend to love stories. If you are a good storyteller, make up to your own tale to keep your toddler entertained. The library is also a free resource for endless books to read to your toddler. Spend the morning going on an adventure to the library where toddlers are easily entertained by colorful books of funny animals and other characters. You can then check out several books of your toddler's favorite books to take home and read while snuggled up under the covers.

Another free way to entertain a toddler is by taking them to the park. There are many free parks nationwide that cater to families, toddlers and sometimes even your dogs. Take the family on an outing to the park where the kids and toddlers can run through the grass, slide down the slide and swing on the swings. Entertaining your toddler by taking them to the park is also a great way to allow you as the parent to relax as they have their free time. You can enjoy a picnic in the park as your toddler rolls down the hill and pretends they are a superhero.

The internet can be a useful resource for teaching your children about moral values and positive messages while keeping your toddler entertained at the same time. YouTube has a channel dedicated to full length children's movies, free of charge. One such example is Veggietales; this show teaches toddlers to respect others and have fun. If you need a half an hour or so to just catch up on daily chores, the free children's movies on YouTube can be useful for entertaining your toddler for free.

Keeping a toddler entertained with free activities does not have to be a difficult task. It can be as simple as lying in the grass and watching the clouds, to singing songs and clapping your hands.
