Clever Marriage Proposals - Contemporary proposals often focus on how or where a couple met. A horse-drawn carriage ride through a park will make your intended bride feel like Cinderella. If the bride is a sports fan, you can arrange to have her name announced at half-time and take the opportunity to make a public proposal.  Or, propose to her in a castle.  A more intimate proposal that's clever is to take her out for a row, find a tranquil marsh along a river bank, bring along a small picnic basket, complete with a bottle of champagne and tuck her ring inside the basket.  When you anchor for your mid-afternoon picnic, your unexpected proposal will be a special intimate moment. You can also propose marriage at an amusement park as you reach the highest point of your ride on the Ferris wheel.  The effect is sure to be dizzying. Contact the amusement park so they can announce the proposal over their PA system just as it's about to take place.

Sky High Proposals - Make arrangements to have a local airport fly a banner or write an airborne message on a small craft plane at a specific time and place where you intend to propose.  The beach is an ideal place for this. If you are both members of a particular hobby group, it might be a good idea to propose during a group event.  Another clever idea is to ask a local bridal shop if they would place a large banner in their window that contains your proposal.  Walk your future bride past the shop.  Then, propose in front of the shop with local media taking photos.
