How To Make a Dating Scrapbook

Scrapbooks are wonderful ways to document and remember special moments throughout life. Dating the person you will marry is certainly one of those special times and something to be treasured for years to come. A dating scrapbook makes a unique gift for your significant other or a cherished book for yourself.

Making a dating scrapbook is not very different from making any other scrapbook. Just as any other photo book project, you want to be as creative and unique as possible. No two scrapbooks should look exactly the same. Begin by planning your scrapbook. If you do not already have supplies and photos, make a list of what you want to be in the book. What do you want the book to convey? What aspects of the dating relationship do you want in the scrapbook?

Consider special characteristics of the couple. Did they meet at a baseball game and spend most of their weekends with a baseball and bat? If you are the girlfriend, are your favorite memories those when your boyfriend takes you to the ice cream parlor after ballroom dancing classes on Friday evenings? Are there specific quotes or letters that are significant to this dating relationship?

Try to gather as many individual, important pieces for the dating scrapbook - things that make the couple laugh or smile, favorite memories, ticket stubs or stickers from various outings, inside jokes, etc. With these things in mind, you can visit the scrapbooking store and purchase supplies accordingly. Determine what size scrapbook you want to use and find paper to fit. Choose paper, if possible, that correlates with the theme of the dating relationship or ties in with those special memories and inside jokes. Visit the sticker and decal section for a lot of unique pieces that will be perfect for the scrapbook.

After you have your supplies, organize the photos you want to use per page, and think about which decals you want with each set of photos. Now you can begin cutting, pasting, and creating. Don't be afraid to try new layouts or interesting designs. The more creative the scrapbook, the more special. Add notes or letters from the dating relationship to make the scrapbook personal, and be sure to write memos and dates for the photos so the couple (or you!) can remember for a long time to come.

When you've finished, step back and admire your handiwork. Now you can delight a happy couple, your significant other, or even yourself with these wonderful memories of a very special dating relationship that you will cherish for days to come.
