And Yourselves!

Average rating:
Simplicity as a primary family value must begin with you, the parent or caretaker, today. Learn simple steps to improve the quality of life for your children.
Nowadays SIMPLICITY must be TAUGHT and MODELED by parents.

What happened to the days:

  • When the story read:
    ONCE UPON A TIME,
AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER.
    THE END
  • When buying your favorite ice cream meant running to your house to get change in time for the ice cream truck?
  • When snack time at school consisted of one rod pretzel and a small container of milk and that made you happy?

In today' s fast paced, highly technical, competitive world, enjoying the "SIMPLE" things in life is too often neglected. For many, it is only after the fact that the simple pleasures are recognized and appreciated, but only as past memories.

SIMPLICITY AS A PRIMARY FAMILY VALUE MUST BEGIN WITH YOU TODAY!

Step 1:

Play, Play, Play.  Play with your kids or other grownups. Children play naturally and are innately creative and imaginative so learn from them, and, don’t place work before fun. Find a way to enjoy being together that does not involve any electronics or competition. Some ideas are: cards, board games, or noncompetitive outdoor sports. If you take the time to think about it, you can certainly come up with ideas that would work in  your family.  If not now, when?

Step 2:

Slow Down. Don’t run through the day.  Think of each day as a new discovery that is separate from yesterday or tomorrow.  Teach your children to enjoy the small pleasures of each day by doing so yourself.

Step 3:

Encourage Every Family Member to Reach for the Stars and Enjoy the View Along the Way. Make the process of reaching a goal more important than the outcome. By doing this, you will validate their feelings, communicate how much you care about them, and teach life skills that will be theirs forever; ones to pass on to their children.

Remind yourself every day:

“HAPPINESS ISN’T IN HAVING WHAT YOU WANT BUT RATHER IN WANTING WHAT YOU HAVE.”
