How To Throw a Sweet 16 Birthday Party

For many girls, having a sweet sixteen party is second only to their plans for a future wedding. Whether you are planning a sweet sixteen party, or a Quinceanera, here is a guide that will allow you to make it a day to remember.

Deciding on a date and time: Depending on when the actual birthday is, scheduling a date and time for the party can be a challenge. Consider holidays that may keep friends and family away. Find out if anyone else is planning an event during that time and take it into consideration. You can choose between the weekend before, and the weekend after the actual birthday, any day of the weekend from Friday to Sunday, and between an afternoon or evening event.

How To Stop Toddler Biting

Biting is among the most bothersome and embarrassing kid behaviors. Take comfort in knowing this behavior is usually temporary, and much more typical than you may think. The most common reason toddlers bite is because they don't yet have the ability to handle their frustrations. Whatever the cause, biting is clearly upsetting to all involved. And do beware: biting is known to continue as kids get older if not dealt with. Your job is to stop this behavior before it becomes a habit. So here are a few steps to help you stop your toddler from using this annoying habit.

Confront the biter ASAP. Intervene the second your child bites. Name the behavior so he learns the term: "That's biting!" Then in a very stern voice say: "You may not bite people!" Firmly express your disapproval, and quickly remove him from the situation.

How To Relieve Nipple Pain in Breastfeeding

While not uncommon, nipple pain should not be a regular part of your nursing experience. To solve the problem, follow these steps:

Identify the type of pain and find some immediate pain relief.

Nipple sensitivity.

What you experience: With normal nipple sensitivity, your nipples feel more sensitive or tender than usual. There should not be continual pain during or after nursing. Some nipple sensitivity is normal in the beginning. As a friend once told me, "Don't worry, one day you will be able to get out of the shower and dry off without wincing!" If it's just normal sensitivity, this statement is true.

The likely cause: Your nipples just aren't used to this much stimulation.
How To Find Online Resources and Assistance for Single Moms

Being a single mom can be rewarding and stressful. It may seem as if everything is on your shoulders. In some ways, this may be true. However, you don't have to handle everything alone! It is important that single moms build a good support system. While of course, you are the primary caregiver to your child, and you are the main supporter of your family, you should have others around you who can help out at times. This may include friends, co-workers, and family members.

How To Buy Infant Life Jackets

From the very first time you take your baby into the water, it is important that you use some type of life jacket or personal flotation device that can help keep your infant safe.

Do some research online to find out the options that exist for infants when it comes to life vests.

Determine the style and features that you want for ultimate safety.

Be sure you know how much your baby weighs so you can make sure you buy the right size.

Don't buy a life vest for your baby to grow into. If the size is too large, your baby could fall right through.

On the flip side, if the life vest is too small, it may not keep your child afloat in an emergency.

Read the labels to check for Coast Guard Approval, which should be indicated inside. Understand that without this endorsement, the life jacket may not be as safe as you desire.
How To Create Chore Charts for Your Kids

Chore charts are a great way to remind your children of the tasks that you expect them to do. They give kids a visual reminder of their responsibilities, are a lot more fun than nagging your children, and allow you to track their accomplishments, too! So, how do you create a chore chart?

First, decide what chores you are going to assign to each of your kids. The tasks should be appropriate for each child's age and skill level. For example, a 3-year-old can make his bed, pick up his toys and put laundry in a hamper. 4- and 5-year-olds can set the table with non-breakable items like silverware and napkins, help put away clean laundry and do dry dusting. By the time kids are in school, they can do more elaborate tasks like sweeping, taking care of family pets, watering plants, and emptying trash cans.

How To Find an Infant Growth Chart

A common concern of parents is whether their child is growing adequately. A means of determining this is by using infant and child growth charts utilized by pediatricians and derived by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The growth of your child is monitored in the form of percentile curves which compare it with the growth of other U.S. children at the same age. The charts and percentile curves are created from information collected by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.

Growth charts are used to measure a child from birth until adolescence. There are different types of charts available which measure different forms of growth. Hence it is important to find the correct chart for your child. Factors that influence the selection of the right chart for your child are given below:
