How To Beat Under Eye Circles

We all hate dark circles under our eyes. They make us look like raccoons. Whether you get them from lack of sleep, eating right, or genetics, we all get them sometimes. Luckily, I know many ways to significantly fade them away. If yours are genetic, they will never completely go away, unless you get plastic surgery, but that is temporary, painful, expensive, and not worth it!

How To Apply Liquid Eyeliner over False Lashes

The key to making false eyelashes blend is to apply a dark liquid eyeliner over the false lash line on your upper eyelid. The challenge is that liquid eyeliner dries quickly and requires a steady hand. Because liquid eyeliner is applied after you have already put on much of your foundation and eye makeup, it can also make cleaning up complicated. The following tips will help you apply eyeliner to make your false eyelashes blend well.

How To Learn More About Lip Enhancement and Lip Augmentation

We see beautiful pouty lips on famous faces and find ourselves wanting those same lips for our very own. Lip enhancement, also referred to as lip augmentation, is generally a cosmetic surgery that allows us to achieve that pouty lip we desire. For this particular operation, patients are injected or implanted with their choice of filler to make the lips plump. The lips are usually swollen for several days after the procedure and sometimes a follow-up procedure is needed to complete the new lips.

With all the options available for lip enhancement, sometimes we'd like a little more information to help us decide which alternative is right for us. Here are some tips on how to learn more about lip enhancement and lip augmentation:

How To Get Permanent Lipstick and Lip Liner

When we think of permanent lipstick and lip liner, we usually think of a permanent solution for those wanting to look their best without the everyday inconvenience of applying makeup. But did you know that cosmetic lip tattooing is also used to correct damage caused by oral cancer, chemotherapy and sun damage? And it is an excellent solution for those who are partially or completely blind or have an unsteady hand and cannot apply their own makeup.

Although believed to be a new procedure, cosmetic lip tattooing has actually been a beauty-enhancing practice used by women in ancient Mediterranean and African cultures for years. Today, cosmetic lip tattooing is available through tattoo artists, cosmetologists and surgeons almost everywhere. Permanent lip liner is used to perfectly shape the lips by outlining them with color while permanent lipstick is used to color the fleshy part of the lips.

How To Choose a Creme Lipstick Lip Gloss

Lipstick is composed of pigments for color and oils for moisture. Wax gives lipstick its shape. The amount of these ingredients determines how the lipstick feels and looks on your lips. Crème lipsticks contain more oil, which makes them lighter. They are also called moisturizing lipstick, hydrating lipstick, and lip rouge. They look dewy and luscious on lips and feel very smooth. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you choose a creme lipstick lip gloss:

How To Learn Natural Beauty Tips

Natural beauty is about enhancing the looks that you have. Play up your best features and use minimal makeup on the rest of your face. You will then have your best face on without looking like you tried at all. You want to be able to see the skin underneath, not the makeup.

Cheekbones If you have naturally high cheekbones, you might want to use a shimmery pink or brown crème blush (depending on skin tone). Use only one coat of mascara and subtle lip gloss.

Skin For the person with great skin, no foundation is needed, only a swipe of tinted moisturizer for a sun-kissed look. For dark skin tones, a natural look would consist of gold and bronze eye shadows, blush with brown undertones, and plum or clear lip gloss. Medium skin tones look natural with brown, grays, and mauves on eyes and lips. Be sure to reduce shine with blotting sheets, especially if you have oily skin.
How To Learn Eye Makeup Tips

Eye makeup can enhance any woman's appearance. As with any other type of makeup application, however, there is a technique involved for getting it to look just right. Too much eye makeup--or eye makeup that is applied incorrectly--can make you look as though you are ready for Halloween. Here are some tips on eye makeup:

Choose your products wisely. All eye makeup products are not created equal. Look for waterproof products that will have longer lasting staying power.

Eye shadow. Eye shadow, when properly applied, can really open up your eyes. Don't try to "match" your eye shadow color to the color of your clothing, though. Instead, choose eye shadow colors that will complement your eye color. For blue eyes, that means go for tan, taupe and brown eye shadows. Neutral shades of plum enhance green eyes. And brown-eyed girls are really lucky--just about any neutral shade of eye shadow can work for dark eyes.
How To Choose the Right Makeup for Blue Eyes

To debunk the myth, there are no particular eye shadow colors that are perfect for blue eyes. When the color is the right shade and applied correctly, I believe that a person with any color of eyes can wear any color of eye shadow. Because that doesn't help you go to the store and pick out an eye shadow here are some guidelines.

There are two predominate schools of thought on how to choose eye shadows:

How To Treat Chapped Lips

Dry, chapped lips are not only uncomfortable and unsightly, but they can also invite infection. Restoring the moisture and softness to chapped, peeling lips is a simple procedure:

Apply a thin coating of petroleum jelly to chapped lips several times each day.

At night, gently exfoliate chapped lips by rubbing them softly with a dry toothbrush or washcloth. If you prefer, you can make a paste of baking soda and water and apply to lips before exfoliating. Follow with a thick coating of petroleum jelly before going to bed. After just a few nights, you should see a marked improvement.

Since chapped, peeling lips can be painful, it is wise to take steps to protect your lips from becoming chapped in the first place. There are a number of steps you can take to minimize the chances of getting chapped lips.

With all of the reports surfacing about chemicals in our water, produce, and meat products, it is no wonder that new research is being done on the cosmetics market as well. Over 60% of what we put on our skin gets absorbed into it and travels right to our bloodstream, so ingredients should be a key factor when shopping.

One often overlooked, but potentially hazardous product, is good old lip balm. Lip balm keeps your lips from chapping, tastes nice, and, depending on the brand you use, could contain ingredients that lead to many types of cancers. Here is a list of lip balms that are natural and the most beneficial for you, too.

How To Remove Lip Make-Up

I'm quite sure I'm not the only one who has unsuccessfully attempted to scrub off particularly persistent red lipstick after a date and thought nothing of it...only to wake up in the morning with it smeared across my face, gluing my hair to my forehead and glowing between my teeth.

Never fear! There IS a way to prevent this. In order to remove lip make-up:

Gently rub the same cleanser you're using on your face onto your lips to remove the first layer of lip color.

Then saturate a cotton ball with toner (take care to select toner with a low alcohol content, as alcohol will dry out your lips), and gently swipe the ball across your lips -- that should eliminate most, if not all, of the offending pigment.
How To Learn Makeup Tips

There is an art to make up application. When make up is applied correctly, it can look beautiful. When it is done incorrectly, however, it can make the wearer look like a circus clown. Here are some tips on how to learn to apply make up:

Start with a clean slate. Don't just try to cover bad skin with a thick make up application. First, make sure you skin is squeaky clean. Wash it with a mild cleanser that is appropriate for your skin type, then apply moisturizer and let it soak into your skin before you apply any make up.

Concealer/Cover stick

If you have under eye circles or minor discolorations on your face, a good quality concealer or cover stick can help to diminish their appearance. Be careful not to be too heavy handed with concealer products, though, or you could end up looking like a raccoon! A light touch is all you need -- and blend the product well.

How To Make Your Lips Look Sexy, Perfect and Full

Lush, full-looking lips are yours for the taking - no hypodermic needles necessary! Here's the painless, artistic path to fuller looking lips, every time.

Start with clean lips.

Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently exfoliate the lips. Baby toothbrushes work especially well for this. This not only gives your lips a smooth and younger texture, but also plumps your lips temporarily by increasing blood flow.

Apply a touch of lip balm very sparingly. The idea is to alleviate the dryness without creating a slick surface to which the color won't adhere.

With your lip brush, apply the darkest of the three shades of lip color to the outer half of your lips only. The idea isn't to create a pencil-thin outline, but to shade the outer half of your lips, mimicking natural shadows. Wipe off the excess color from your brush before proceeding.

It is important for the health of your skin to remove any makeup before going to bed each night. Leaving makeup on your skin overnight can clog your pores, leading to acne. Leaving eye makeup on overnight can result in the makeup getting into your eye, causing irritation and possibly infection. Removing eye makeup can be one of the more tricky areas of the face, as the skin around your eyes is the most sensitive. Below are a variety of product suggestions along with instructions on how to use each.
