How To Ice your Face the Right Way

Icing is one of the best stay-at-home remedies to get a healthy, mark-and-spot-free face. It is especially famous in a number of developing countries around the world, where women use it to retain the freshness and glow of their facial skin. In the recent past, metrosexual men have begun to lean towards it, too, but icing still remains a largely meant-for-women technique. If you are confused as to how it is done, have a look. The method is as simple as it is effective.

How To Make a Coffee Body Scrub

The coffee we all love so much has many uses beyond just waking us up in the morning. One of those uses is to create a coffee body scrub. It’s usually just the high prices that deter us from enjoying the benefits of exfoliating body scrubs. Since most of us have a canister of coffee grounds in the kitchen, creating this scrub will be easy, beneficial, and most of all, cheap! Not to mention that the coffee itself has added benefits for your skin and body that many body scrubs do not provide.

Before we go into any recipes, let's discuss why a coffee body scrub is so much more beneficial than the everyday scrub. This information was provided by CancerLynx.

How To Keep Your Skin Looking Younger

Most adults wish that their skin looked younger. While it is most effective to fight aging skin before it happens, there are ways that you can help your skin look younger even as you age. Remember, the earlier you start treating your skin well, the better it will look!

ALWAYS use sunscreen. The main reason why skin shows the signs of aging is from sun damage. The sun can do a lot more harm to your skin than just causing wrinkles. For your health and for your beauty, use sunscreen on your face and lip balm on your lips. There are many sunscreens on the market now that can be used every day without causing breakouts or feeling heavy and greasy. Get in the habit of making a moisturizer or lotion with sunscreen part of your daily routine.

How To Learn About Dead Sea Salt Products

The Dead Sea, located on the border of Jordan and Israel, has an unusually high concentration of salt, as well as minerals such as magnesium, potassium and calcium chloride. The Dead Sea has a long and storied history. Even ancient Egyptians were aware of the sea's unique qualities: They extracted bitumen (a component of asphalt) from the Dead Sea to embalm mummies. Over the ages, people have always visited the Dead Sea due to its reputed curative properties. Today, health spas and resorts line its shores, and Dead Sea Salt is used in a variety of bath and beauty products. Below are some interesting facts about the Dead Sea and Dead Sea Salt products:

Why the Name. The reason that the Dead Sea is called "dead" is that nothing is capable of living in the water; it is far too saline to support life. Any fish that might swim into the Dead Sea by mistake (from the freshwater streams that feed it) die immediately.

Thanks to Angelina Jolie, we all are more familiar with the concept of tattoo removal than we might be otherwise. Although the images of Angelina Jolie's tattoos were removed from Tomb Raider frame by frame by frame, chances are that you don't have that same option available to you for say, your upcoming wedding video. Here are a few tips on how to get your own personal "Billy Bob" removed:

How To Learn About Emu Oil

What, by the way, is an emu? An emu is a large bird that lives only in mainland Australia, and is perhaps best known for its inability to fly. Emus are tall (five to six feet tall), dark (mingled black, brown and tan) and well, handsome might be a stretch. Decide for yourself here. Emus have lived in Australia for at least 80 million years.

Emu oil comes from the large fat pad on the back of the emu bird. This fat pad is similar to the hump of a camel in that it serves both as insulation as well as a fat reservoir. The male uses this reservoir for nourishment when he sits on the eggs that the female lays.

How To Hide a Pimple

I went to college with a woman who had a unique way of disguising her pimples. If a pimple broke out right before a big date, she would color it brown with an eye pencil and pretend it was a beauty mark! No matter where the pimple erupted, she just ran with it-I remember seeing her one night and thinking she was entering a Cindy Crawford lookalike contest. If the pimple was particularly rebellious, she would apply a fake beauty mark and call it done. I'm not sure if she ever had to explain the change come the second, third and fourth dates-knowing her, she probably didn't say a thing and didn't think twice. But for those among us without quite as much chutzpah, follow the tips in this article to camouflage a comedone.

How To Prevent Ingrown Hairs

I once dated a man whose nickname was "The Man From Planet Slow. The nickname had nothing to do with his quickness of wit, as he was razor-sharp in that regard. The way that he acquired this nickname was by taking an inordinately long time to shave his face. The reason? You guessed it: ingrown hairs.

How To Choose and Use Skin Care Products for Acne

We've all experienced acne breakouts at one time or another followed by pure frustration. Frustration from the embarrassment they cause in the first place and at the medicated acne products that didn't quite do their job.

So what exactly is acne and what causes it? Acne is an inflammation of the sebaceous glands that give off an oily substance also known as sebum. While the exact cause of acne is not known, there are a number of things that do trigger it. An increase in hormones, stress, cosmetics, pollution in the air and genetics are all said to be factors that can trigger acne. There is also no proof that certain foods like chocolate or French fries cause acne. You can make it worse however by picking at your pimples.

Now that we have a better understanding of acne, the next step should be finding the right skin care products for acne.

How To Care for Your Skin

Who doesn't want beautiful skin? We feel our best when we look our best and beautiful skin is certainly a big part of looking our best. Good routine skin care, however, is usually far from our minds and we often take our skin for granted. Basic skin care isn't as hard as most people might think. For many of us, just trying to figure out what skin type we have can be a problem. There are three basic skin types: Dry, oily and combination skin. Most of us will fall under one of these three categories unless you're one of the rare ones blessed with normal skin.

If your skin is often dry with a tight feeling after washing, and sometimes flaky, you probably have dry skin. If you have dry skin, you will want to use a good moisturizer daily and avoid cleansing products (like soap) that dry out your skin. Depending on how dry your skin is, you may find it necessary to wash your face only once a day using a mild cleanser followed by a creamy moisturizer.

How To Care for Sensitive Skin

You probably have sensitive skin if you have thin or fine skin. Most likely you sunburn easily and your skin freaks out if a product is too harsh. While most products are unacceptable for your skin, there is a way to care for it.

It is a good idea to visit a dermatologist. Dermatologists are skin specialists and can determine just how sensitive your skin is. Another option is to have an allergy test done to figure out what makes your skin go crazy. If visiting specialists is not an option for you, an easy way to see if a product is good for your skin is to apply a sample of every new product you buy--make-up, moisturizer, sun block, or cleanser--on one small patch of your face such as along the jawline. While you may think that testing some skin on the inside of your wrist is adequate, the skin on your arm may not be as sensitive as the skin on your face, so a wrist test is not necessarily an accurate test for a skin reaction.

How To Care for Oily Skin

Taking care of oily skin has its own unique challenges. First, before you can tackle the task of taking care of your skin, you have to make sure that you really do have oily skin. Here are the common traits:

Visibly oily surface

Feels greasy

Tendency to break out (pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads)

Large pores

Slightly coarse

Makeup wears off within a few hours of application

If you still aren't sure if you have oily skin or not, try this little test. Wash your face and then set the kitchen timer for 30 minutes. Once the timer goes off, check your skin by blotting it with a paper towel or toilet paper. If you lift up oil from your skin, then welcome to the oily club.
