How To Find Vintage Clothing

For the past few years, vintage clothing has been a hot trend in the fashion world.  Look at any celebrity out there, and chances are they are wearing at least one piece of vintage clothing.  Do you want to find out how you can get this amazing look for yourself?  Finding vintage clothing is easier than you might think.  Here is how to shop for your new vintage look.

The first place you're going to want to stop will have the best prices you'll ever encounter: free.  Raid your mother's, aunt's, or grandmother's closet. Chances are all of them have kept a few outfits from the past.  You'll not only find a hot new look, but you'll get to hear the stories attached to each piece of clothing.  These looks won't cost you a penny, and you'll love the idea of resurrecting your mom's favorite pair of bell bottom jeans, or your grandmother's amazing cocktail dress.

Another great place to look is your local thrift store.  The prices are low, and the options change on a daily basis.  You'll be amazed at what you'll find if you take the time to look through all the racks. The key to thrift store shopping is perseverance.  You might have to dig a little to find what you're looking for, but eventually you will find it.   Some resale stores even have special sections dedicated to helping you find the one piece of vintage clothing you can't live without.

There are special vintage stores in most large cities.  You'll find a huge selection of classic looks, but beware -- some of these pieces of clothing will carry a heavy price tag.  If you don't want to spend copious amounts of money to find a vintage look, you may want to steer clear of these stores.  If you don't mind spending some money, then vintage stores could be a great place for you to shop.  The variety of choices is amazing, the clothes are typically of a high quality, and you'll have no trouble finding exactly what you're looking for.

Finding your new vintage look is actually pretty simple.  Keep in mind; there is a difference between vintage and old.  If you find a piece of clothing you love, make sure that it is still in fairly decent shape.  Vintage can also be a difficult look to pull off.  If you are timid about this prospect, why not try pairing a vintage T-shirt with a modern pair of jeans?  Mixing the old with the new may just give you the unique style you have been dying to find.
