How To Change Colored Hair from Red to Blonde

One of the things that you can do in order to change your appearance is to change your hair color. If you want to stand out in a crowd, the color to choose is red. But what if you get tired of the color of your red hair and you want to change it to blonde? This process may not be easy but it is not impossible. You do not have to go to the salon and have this done for you. You can do this in the comfort of your own home. Just be sure that follow the instructions carefully as you can do great damage to your hair if you don’t.

Here are the steps on how you can change your red hair to blonde:

Materials. Purchase the materials that you need to change your red hair to blonde. You will need bleach for the hair, blonde hair dye, a color stripper, conditioning treatment, a 20 volume developer and purple shampoo. You can get these hair treatments from the grocery or a hair care shop.

Strip your old hair color. The first thing that you have to do is to strip the current color of your hair. Be sure to read the instructions that came with the color stripper before you begin the process. The color stripper will remove most of the red hair dye on your hair but not all of it. You will end up with light red hair color and the natural color of your hair.

Use conditioner. You can expect your hair to be a bit dry and lifeless after you use the color stripper. To get your hair back to its form, get some conditioner and massage it to your locks. It will be better if you use the type of conditioner that is used for dyed hair. Leave the conditioner on your hair for at least half an hour before your rinse it.

Use bleach. After conditioning your hair, the next step is to bleach it. Bleaching your hair will remove the remaining color on your hair. Make sure that you follow the instructions at the back of the bleach bottle to avoid damage to your hair. After you apply the bleach to your hair, allow it to sit for half an hour then rinse it off.

Apply blonde dye. When the bleach has removed all the red on your hair, you can dye it blonde. Follow the instructions on dyeing your hair. Afterwards, use conditioner on your hair. Finish the process by using purple shampoo to even out the blonde color all throughout your hair.
