How To Change Hair Color from Brown to Blonde

Changing hair color

It is always said that it is much more fun being a blonde. If you have brown hair and you want to try out what it feels like to be a blonde, you can dye your hair. The typical thing that most people will do is to go to the salon to have their hair color dyed. This can pretty much empty out your pockets as salon services tend to be really expensive. You can change your brown hair color to blonde by yourself. This will save you the hassle of going to the hair salon.

Here are the instructions on how you can change your brown hair to blonde:

Purchase the materials. Purchase the materials that you need in order to dye your hair to blonde. You will need hair conditioner, color stripper, blonde dye, hot oil treatment and moisturizing shampoo. You can find these products from your local hair salon or in the grocery. When choosing a blonde dye, remember that the color that you see on the package is not the actual color that will appear in your hair. Brown is pretty dark so if you want to get a really light blonde color, choose the brighter blonde colors.

Condition your hair. A couple of days before you plan to dye your hair, use conditioner. Let the conditioner set in your hair for about half an hour before rinsing it off. Conditioning your hair before dyeing it will prepare your hair and prevent it from becoming too brittle and dry when you dye it.

Strip off hair color. Use the color stripper to make the color of your hair lighter. When you do this, make sure that you follow the instructions on the box to the letter. The color stripper works just like dye. Apply it on your hair and allow it to set for about twenty to thirty minutes. Afterwards, rinse it off and condition your hair. Do not be surprised to see your hair change in color. This is normal.

Dye your hair. After stripping your hair, you can dye your hair blonde. Again, follow the instructions on the box of the blonde hair dye that you bought. It will be better if you have someone to put the dye on your hair for you so that everything can be dyed evenly. Leave the dye on for about half an hour to forty-five minutes before rinsing it off.

Dye your roots. Depending on the lightness of the blonde dye that you chose, you will have to dye your roots every three weeks or so. If not, you will start to see the growth of your natural hair color within a month and this is not pretty.

These are the steps on how you can turn your brown hair into blonde. Remember that it is always useful to ask questions to a professional before you do this to your hair. Also, after dyeing your hair, it is important that you condition your hair at least twice a week so that the chemicals of the dye will not damage your hair as much.
