How To Change Hair Color with Virtual Hair Color

Changing your hair color can be scary, especially if it is your first time to do so or if you are planning on choosing a color that will make you stand out, such as red, pink, purple, platinum blonde, blue, etc. With the help of technology, you can see the way you would look with these different colors by editing your photo using photo editing software like Photoshop. By using Photoshop, you will see if the hair color fits you so that you can preview your look before having it dyed.

Here are the steps on how you can change your hair color with virtual hair color:

Get photoshop. First, you have to have Photoshop installed on your computer. If you do not have the program, you can purchase it from a computer store or you can also download it from the official website of Adobe at Install the program on your computer and run it. You also have to have a picture of yourself ready. It is better if you work with your most recent picture to have a clear view of what your hair will look like in a different color.

Working with photoshop. On the top of the Photoshop window, click on the File menu and choose Open from the drop down menu. Choose the picture that you want to work with. Afterwards, click on the Tools bar and choose the Polygonal Lasso Tool. Work with your mouse and trace out your hair on the picture. After outlining your hair, choose Edit from the menu on top of the screen and then choose Copy. Click on the Edit button once more and this time, choose Paste. This will copy and paste the outline of the hair on another layer.

Locate the Layers box. This can usually be found on the right part of the screen at the bottom. Choose the top layer of the photo. Afterwards, click on the Image option and then choose Hue/Saturation from the list. Change the sliders that you see until you achieve the color that you want on your hair.

Save your image. When you are happy with the color of your hair, you can save it. To do this, click on File and then choose Save As. Now you have the image saved on your computer.
