Knowing how to change your Timex watchband is important. Firstly, you get to know a handy skill. Secondly, you also get to save money in the process since you no longer have to pay just to have it done. Here's how:

  1. Prepare all of the necessary materials for changing watchbands.  Assemble all the tools and materials necessary for changing watchbands on a Timex watch first. These are the springbar tool, thick and soft piece of cloth, the replacement watchbands, and a pair of new springbars.
  2. Take out the watchband first. Lay the cloth on a work table and position the watch. Make sure that you work from the back of the watch by first placing the watch upside down. This is so you avoid scratching the watch's crystal. Position the forked end of the springbar tool to one end of the attached springbar. Now, press down the springbar tool towards the direction of the watchband so as to release it with the springbar still within. Perform the same steps for removing the other watchband.
  3. Prepare the replacement watchband. Get the pair of replacement watchbands and springbars. First insert a springbar into the allotted hole at the end of one watchband. You may need to push the springbar with either the tip of the springbar tool or a coin if it does not slide in easily. Make sure that both ends of the springbar are sticking out from the watchband's edges. Perform these same steps for inserting the remaining springbar into the other watchband.
  4. Start the process of changing the watchbands. Make sure that you attach the correct watchband to the correct side of the watch. The short watchband with the buckle on should be attached to the top part of the watch right above 12 o'clock. Meanwhile, the long watchband with the holes goes to the other end opposite 6 o'clock. You might want to turn the watch face up first to ascertain the correct positioning of the watchbands. Now, get the short watchband with its springbar on. Insert one end of the springbar into the allotted hole. Get the springbar tool and use the forked end to press the springbar down to make it shorter. Insert this end of the springbar then into its allotted hole. A clicking sound should indicate that the springbar is properly locked into place. Simply perform these same steps for attaching the long watchband.

You might also want to give the installed watchbands a couple of pulls to make sure both have been securely attached.
