How To Exfoliate after Tanning

It’s bright outside but not at all hot. A light, cool breeze greets you as you step into the street. You have just finished your appointment at the tanning salon. Do you feel refreshed? Do you feel brand new? Do you feel positively delicious? You just had a glorious, wonderful tanning session at the salon and you couldn’t possibly feel any better. You are all warmed up and have a nice golden glow. Shining brighter than ever, there is nothing that can bring you down. You feel, nay, believe you’re radiant and beautiful. Nothing can stop you now. You want to scream, “Look at me world, I am gorgeous!”

Invincibility aside ask yourself, are you sure you have done all you can to get the best tan possible? Are you sure you are looking your best? For even better results, you should exfoliate after you get your tan.

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells. It aids in taking care of your skin. This will ensure that your skin is healthy and give you the best complexion. Exfoliating your skin after tanning helps produce a better quality tan and at the same time making it last longer. You can go to the spa to exfoliate but it isn’t necessary. Proper exfoliating agents (lotion, scrubbers, etc.) are available everywhere so you can even do it at home. Here are a few easy steps on how to go about getting the best care for your tan:

Avoid getting wet. After you get your tan, wait a while before taking a bath. Give your skin a nice long rest before getting it wet again. At least 6 to 8 hours. Your tan will be allowed to deepen nicely. Getting it wet will only reverse the effects and you will have to start all over again.

Exfoliate. Using a salt-free product, exfoliate everywhere thoroughly. Salt-free products should be available at your local pharmacy or home and bath shop. Make sure to spend a lot of time on this for optimum results and use a circular motion to wipe your body. Exfoliate especially around areas where your skin will be covered so that the tan looks natural. Focus your attention also on the skin near your hairline.

Moisturize. Immediately after exfoliating, apply moisturizer. Choose your favorite brand. This will boost the effects of your exfoliation and keep your tan looking healthy. Remember to keep drinking lots of water and avoid fizzy and sugary drinks. Keep repeating this process for prime results.

Everyone wants to look beautiful. You already are after your tanning session. I am sure you want to make it last longer. Do this by exfoliating after you get your tan. People will come up to you and ask how you got such beautiful, golden skin and wonder how you’re seemingly making it last forever. Do yourself a favor and get a tan. Then do your tan a favor and exfoliate. You will not regret it.
