How To Get Rid of Acne Sores

Acne sores are painful and inflamed acne.  They may be the result of acne, which have been scratched or picked.  Acne sores are very uncomfortable and unattractive, thus a lot of people desire to get rid of them as soon as they appear.  These are some ways to help you get rid of acne sores, to help your skin look and feel better.

  1. Clean your skin and keep it clean.  Acne sores are prone to infection.  To help acne sores heal faster, make sure that your skin is always clean.  Wash your face with clean, lukewarm water and non-irritating soap.  Make sure that it is thoroughly washed, because soap residues may aggravate the sores.  Refrain from getting dirt or dust on your acne sores.  Stay away from polluted places as much as possible.
  2. Keep your acne sores dry.  Moisture encourages the growth of bacteria.  Keep your sores from getting damp.  Gently wipe your sweat with a clean towel.  When washing or treating acne sores, make sure that the water is wiped or dried off, and the medication thoroughly absorbed by the skin.
  3. Let your acne sores drain.  Acne sores are painful because of the pressure of the fluid within them.  Help the drainage of the fluid by loosening up your pores.  Heat up some water until it turns into steam.  Place your face over the steam for a few minutes.  Alternatively, go to the dermatologist to have the acne sores drained.  Don't attempt to prick the sores or you may end up with scars.
  4. Use acne medications.  There are a lot of acne preparations that you may buy without a prescription.  A popular remedy is benzoyl peroxide, which fights bacteria in acne sores while causing the acne to subside.  Your dermatologist may give you a list of medications for your acne sores.  Read the instructions written on the drugs, and store them properly to get the most out of them.
  5. Eat right.  Eat plenty of healthy food instead of greasy food and food that is low in nutritional content.  Too much fat in your diet makes your skin oily, which in turn makes acne worse.  Consume more fruits that contain Vitamin C, which helps repair wounds and sores.
  6. Refrain from using skin irritants.  These include harsh soaps and cleansers, lotions and creams, cosmetics, perfumes, detergents, and other substances that irritate your skin.  Choose mild or hypo-allergenic alternatives.  Test the product first before using it regularly to find out if it harms your skin.  Place a small amount of the substance to a portion of skin, and wait for a few minutes.  If the skin becomes red, itchy or if you experience unusual symptoms, don't use it.
  7. Use cosmetics.  Cosmetics don't actually remove the acne sores, but it visually eliminates them.  Choose good-quality cosmetics that don't irritate your skin and hides the sores effectively.  Make sure that the brushes and sponges that you use are clean to avoid infection.

Acne sores heal gradually without you doing anything, but it doesn't mean that you have to wait for months before they disappear.  Do the above methods to get rid of acne sores easier and more effectively.
