Clogged pores can make your face look worn-out and tired. They can trap dirt and bacteria, causing you to have unhealthy, pimply skin. It can happen to anyone as everybody sweats and is exposed to harmful pollutants. Letting them sit there will damage your skin and leave your face without a healthy glow. Most of the time, we think taking a shower and splashing a little water on our faces will solve the problem but the truth is you need to do more. Regular soaps won’t do the trick. There are certain specific ways to get rid of bacteria in clogged pores and here they are:
Steam clean. Use steam to get your pores to open up. The hot air will effectively force pores to unclog making it a great alternative facial. Simply boil a kettle of water and pour into a bowl. Be careful though as the water will be hot and so will the steam. Keep your head at least three feet away from the bowl but make sure you face the rising air. Cover your head with a large towel to help trap the steam and direct it to your face. This can also function as a remedy for colds if you have a clogged nose and can make you sweat away various maladies.
Wash your face with a cleanser. Washing your face well is a good start but you need an extra ingredient to get rid of the bacteria. Use a face cleanser to really effectively treat your clogged pores. Soap and water will get rid of dirt and grime on the surface, but a face cleanser is designed to target your pores. Do this at least twice every day.
Exfoliate. Dead skin cells can get trapped in your pores if not removed right away. Exfoliate your face to remove of the debris clogging your face. Use exfoliating creams and loofahs to properly work on your face. Be gentle however, scrubbing too hard may cause you to scrape and damage the skin. Exfoliate at least thrice a week.
Moisturize. Keep your face fresh and moist but applying your favorite moisturizer. It will help keep your skin healthy and plump making it strong and more resistant to bacteria and dirt. You can moisturize daily.
Sun block. Constant exposure to sunlight can burn your skin leaving it weak and dehydrated and giving the bacteria ample opportunity to wreak havoc on your face. Use a sun block to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays. Every time you go out, use an oil-free sun block with a high SPF on your face and arms.
Lotions and creams. Use ointments and creams with benzoyl peroxide to stop acne causing bacteria. Target blackheads and pimples only and do not use it all over your face and body. It is best used on specific problem areas only. This treatment is very effective as the bacteria cannot build a resistance against it thus helping prevent repeat occurrences.
Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Living a healthier lifestyle will also help stop bacteria from clogging your pores. Stay away from oily foods, eat your vegetables, drink lots of water and avoid smoking. Keep your skin healthy and moist to keep it strong. Smoking will cause your skin to age faster. Also, get enough sleep regularly to maintain your freshness.
Bacteria trapped in your pores cause blemishes on your face. Unclogging them is your number one defense against pimples and acne. Protect and treat your skin regularly while getting enough nutrition and sleep and your face will be free from skin disease and ailments.
