One of the best ways to easily spruce up your looks is to make your hair shiny and glossy. The good news is that there are so many different options you could try out, and many of these involve homemade remedies that are most likely available in your kitchen cupboard. Here are some of the ways that you can get shiny hair, using homemade remedies:
Use mayonnaise. Creamy mayonnaise is a great remedy to correct dull, lifeless hair. Simply wash your hair as you normally do, rinse it well, then apply regular, non-flavored mayonnaise onto your hair. Wrap your hair with a transparent plastic bag or a shower cap, and let it stay for 30 minutes. Afterwards, rinse it well with lukewarm water. Do this procedure about once a week.
Another option is to mix one whole mashed ripe avocado with two cups of mayonnaise. Apply onto hair as described above.
Use coffee. Brew a cup of strong espresso, and wait for 30 minutes to let it cool. Pour this onto your clean hair, tuck your hair into a shower cap, and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse your hair with cold water, and blow-dry.
Use avocado. Mash a ripe avocado, and combine it with a tablespoon of olive oil and another tablespoon of baking powder. Apply this mixture onto your hair, and rinse it off after 15 minutes.
Use natural oils. If you have no time to create a mixture of ingredients, you can simply use natural oils such as heated olive oil and apply it onto your hair. Leave this on for 30 minutes and rinse thoroughly.
Use honey. Combine three tablespoons honey and a pint of water, and massage this mixture onto your hair and scalp. Leave it on for 20 minutes with your hair gathered inside a shower cap. Afterwards, rinse it well with cool water, and blow-dry your hair. Do this once a week. You can save the mixture left over.
Use baking soda. A major reason for dull and lifeless hair could be the build-up of oil and dirt on hair. To remove this, you could add baking soda on to your favorite shampoo. This way, the dirt, oil and grease that aren’t removed by regular shampoo will be effectively stripped off by baking soda, which is a powerful natural cleaning agent.
Use egg. If you have enough time, you can create a mixture of the following ingredients: an egg, a teaspoon olive oil, a teaspoon lemon juice, 5 drops of an essential oil (such as lavender), a tablespoon castile soap, and a half cup water. Thoroughly blend all these ingredients together, and apply onto your hair. Leave it on for about 20 minutes, and rinse off thoroughly.
Use vinegar. Shampoo and rinse hair as usual. Then, apply a mixture of ½ cup vinegar and ½ cup lukewarm water onto your hair. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, and then be careful to wash it off thoroughly.
There you have it! These are just some of the ways that you can get shiny hair using homemade remedies. Good luck, and hope this helped you out!
